About the Downs Burnett Cycle Trail.

The Downs Burnett Cycle Trail (DBCT) is designed to give cyclists a single or multi-day ride, leaving them with memorable cycling experiences.

The Trail route encourages bike riders to experience the northern Darling Downs and South Burnett, cycling through the diverse landscape of agricultural and natural beauty and passing through numerous small towns.

The DBCT trail travels through the indigenous Giabal, Jarrowair and WakkaWakka areas. We acknowledge their ongoing connection with the air, land and water.

Please contact us if you have any questions or comments.

The DBCT is open for everyone to ride

The Downs Burnett Cycle Trail (DBCT) is the first of a number of cycle trails to be created across our region by SQCT Inc. The DBCT is not an organization with members but a mapped route on public roads for anyone to ride when they choose to, in full or in part. The route was developed by the Southern Queensland Cycle Trail Inc (SQCT Inc). The SQCT Inc was created to conceive, plan, organise and promote the DBCT and other new cycle routes. Being an Incorporated body SQCT Inc needs members to support the work of creating a network of cycle trails in the Western Downs, Southern Downs, Darling Downs, South Burnett and Lockyer Valley.

SQCT Inc. supports and promotes improvements to safer cycle touring across the regions we cycle and have partnered with Bicycle Queensland (BQ), the relevant cycle promotion and lobbying group in Queensland. BQ provides the required public liability insurance for the SQCT Inc body. Riders who are already members of BQ can join SQCT Inc by filling out the SQCT Inc membership form, paying the one-off fee of $20.00 and providing their BQ membership number. Riders who are not currently BQ members but would like to join SQCT Inc to help the growth of regional trails must first join BQ to enjoy all the personal benefits BQ offers to individual members, particularly the insurance cover, while helping to promote safer cycle touring across a wide area of regional Queensland.
