Cooyar to Crows Nest

This is the most challenging section of the DBCT with the elevation gain.

Ride south from Cooyar towards East Cooyar on quiet, well-formed gravel roads with good views at the 10km mark. There is a great downhill section but be aware that you are about to join the New England Highway for 2km. Leaving the Highway, you are back on quiet roads with several creek crossings and some solid climbs. There are many scenic spots for a break and photos. The final climb at 51km leads to a great downhill to Crows Nest, with the final 4km back on the New England Highway. Be aware there are no towns on this section and mobile phone coverage can be a little patchy.
