Goombungee to Bell

This is the longest section of the Trail at 118km, but it could be broken with overnight options at Kulpi (camping), Quinalow (Hotel) or Kaimkillenbun (Hotel). Ride north from Goombungee for 3km then turn left, following Doctors Creek through a sheltered valley with exposed rock on either side. This section has easy riding through very scenic farmland to Kulpi. The Pioneer Hotel at Kulpi is open from 10.00am and serves good coffee as well as cold beverages and also offers lunch between 12 noon and 2.00pm. The country roads are very quiet through Peranga. Quinalow and Maclagan (with a shop for refreshments).

There are stunning views along the road to Malling as you head north, before heading southwest. Where the trail crosses the Dalby-Cooyar Road, make the decision to take the slightly longer route via some black-soil tracks or if there has been recent rain, head west on the bitumen to Kaimkillenbun on the Dalby-Cooyar Road. After refreshments at the “Bun” Hotel (the food is excellent), the Trail follows some very quiet country roads to Bell. There are also picnic and toilet facilities at The Bun just behind the Hotel.
